Green Thumbs in Our Garden
This is the first year for the Branson-Hollister Senior Center’s vegetable garden which supplies the salad bar with fresh produce. Board president Don “Pete” Peterson built the raised beds as a way to help alleviate food costs, get more seniors involved, and offer the freshest salad options possible. The volunteers work hard to keep the plants in our garden watered and healthy all season. They’ve enjoyed the new project and look forward to continuing.
The fresh veggies were even used at the Center’s Easter dinner and will be used for other special occasions throughout the summer.
A special thanks goes out to the Branson Home Depot for providing the lumber to build the raised garden beds.
