Home-Delivered Meals (OLD)

The Branson-Hollister Senior Center is proud to provide meal delivery to homebound adults. Because of this network, we delivered 36,000 meals to seniors in the Branson area in 2017.

We deliver a frozen meal to residents for every day of the week. The suggested donation is $3.50 per meal for seniors over age 60.

This service is vital; 87% of seniors who need home meal delivery are physically unable to shop for groceries, compared to 23% of average seniors.

Our drivers treat each homebound resident with care and respect. We don’t just drop a meal and run; we check in on the senior, offer to lend a hand, and brighten their day with a friendly face. Some seniors only need meal delivery for a limited time while they recover from surgery or an injury. Others stay on the route on a permanent basis. Our Home Care Coordinator will schedule a time to visit the senior at home and evaluate their mobility, safety, and level of need. Meals on Wheels is cost efficient - Branson-Hollister Senior Center We deliver a full half-gallon of milk each week rather than a small half-pint each day. This allows the senior to use the milk throughout the week as they need it and to help keep tabs on the freshness. Volunteer drivers are critical to keep the program running. With their dedication, over 100 seniors in our community receive food for every single day.
We desperately need more drivers and substitute drivers to meet the growing needs of our homebound seniors. If you are willing to help, even if you can only commit to one day a week, please contact Lisa Arnold at 417-335-4801.
