Frequently Asked Questions – Guardian Alert 911

The requirements to install a 911 alert system are simple:
  • Must be at least 60 years old and live in Taney County, Missouri.
  • Must have a landline phone.
  • Must provide an extra house key for the system lockbox.
Nothing! We feel strongly in promoting the safety of our seniors. The units were purchased by the Taney County Senior Tax Board and we have capable volunteers who install the systems. There are no installation costs or monthly fees.
No, the installation doesn’t take long at all. One of our installers will contact you to schedule an appointment. Then they will come to your home and set everything up.
Each unit is a small, lightweight pendant. It comes with a lanyard so you can comfortably wear the device around your neck, keeping your hands free.
The pendant is worn around your neck. If you need assistance, simply push the blue button on the pendant. Your name and address will appear on the 911 office screen. You will then have a direct conversation with a 911 operator and they will dispatch the appropriate assistance.

Even if you are unable to speak, emergency responders will see your location on their caller ID and send help. Whether you fall and need help getting back up or you need full medical assistance, help is available 24/7.

The Guardian Alert 911 system offers peace of mind in multiple ways:
  • The caller is connected directly to a 911 operator who can dispatch help immediately. Other monitoring systems send callers to a central monitoring station before contacting emergency help.
  • The caller's address will appear on the 911 caller ID. Even if the person cannot talk, the emergency team can still locate them.
  • Senior adults can maintain their independence and remain in their homes longer.
  • There is no installation fee, monthly fee, or contract.
