Nestled in the heart of the Ozark Mountains, the Branson-Hollister Senior Center is just minutes from historical downtown Branson, Missouri.
Concern for seniors in our community is evident by the hard work and dedication of our staff, board, and volunteers. In 2018, we served more than 58,000 meals to Taney County senior adults.
The center has served seniors as a 501(c)(3) non-profit since 1987. This collaborative effort involves the non-profit BHSC; SeniorAge, the Senior Area Agency on Aging; the City of Branson, including the Branson Community Center; and the Taney County Senior Tax Board.
Many of our seniors also volunteer in the program, giving them a sense of purpose and allowing them to give back to their communities. They help in the kitchen, deliver meals to homebound residents, assist with fundraising events, lead classes, work in the garden, and many other jobs that keep the center running smoothly.

Since half of senior center visitors live alone, the centers are an important hub of social interaction that extends their physical and emotional well-being.
The Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University strongly supports senior centers. “In addition to infrastructure that enables older adults to remain connected with their communities, the availability of supportive services is critical. Senior centers are one such resource.”
Senior centers offer a nationwide network of support as shown by the 1.0 million adults who daily visit the 11,400 senior centers in the United States. They enjoy the health and wellness programs, entertainment opportunities, guidance on public benefits, and referrals to other service providers. We often welcome travelers from other senior centers around the country as they pass through town.
